The Indy Car was one of the original clutch poppers, the only one in that first iteration not in the Chevy model line. It came with the turbo sound feature around 1980. It has the same motor configuration as the Chevy’s, with a couple of extra parts in the form of a rear spoiler piece and separate front nose piece. Pressed steel body and made in Japan like the rest. As it goes at about the same speed as the others, though the tail piece an front nose are weak points in the design and prone to breaking off under heavy usage which is why there are many examples out there with these pieces missing or broken. Where the other models went on to a couple of more iterations to their end of line (later 80’s), this one did not. Still a pretty cool steel car in an Indy Car format that’s pretty solid and reliable if just needs a basic clean-up.
